My little girl is about turn turn three... holy moly... Seriously where have the years gone. I have had little ones and little one things around my house for so long now that it really does feel like the end of an era.
Potty training is done (though we still have night problems) and now we are done with binkies!! After all, Little Miss will be three in just a few weeks and it is about time for the binks to go!! She mostly only had it in a sleep time, but there were days that she would want it all day. As much as she wants to talk now, having to constantly tell her to take it out to talk was getting old.
We had tried the whole cutting it down little by little and it just didn't phase her much, so I decided about a week ago to just go cold turkey and throw them all away.... I felt bad, but enough was enough. The first nap time she screamed for over an hour straight at the top of her lungs then eventually passed out in my arms. The nighttime was almost just as bad. Throughout the rest of the week the screaming fits became less and less. She hasn't really asked for her binks the last couple of days, but man oh man when she does throw fits the screaming has gotten louder!!
I am glad to not be worrying about where her binnkies are, if they are clean or whatever any more. I hate to see the last of the "baby' things go, but am ready for where the next couple of years take us :)
How did you get rid of the binks? Or did your child even take it at all?
