Body by Vi: Vi-Shape Nutritional Shake Mix Review

Since I have started working out, I have been curiously trying different protein shake mixes in search of one I like, that tastes good, and actually feels like a meal to me. But most can either have a funny taste, leave me feeling hungry too quickly, or just be so expensive that I haven't tried them.

I was sent a few packets of the Body by Vi: Vi-Shape Nutritional Shake Mix to try out thanks to Mike Watson, who is one of their promoters.

A little about the Vi-Shape Nutritional Shake Mix:

  • A unique, concentrated and absorbable blend of proteins processed to remove fat, lactose, carbs and isoflavones to provide pure, concentrated protein
  • Low sodium. Lower than other brands!
  • Contains a serving of whole milk, for bone healthy calcium
  • Contains a full serving of fruit or vegetable fiber, without the gas
  • Contains digestive aids and enzymes, including prebiotic activity for maximum nutrition absorption
  • Smells and tastes  like cake mix! No Grit! No metallic aftertaste
I tried the shakes for three consecutive mornings as my breakfast before I did my workout. I mixed it in with Almond Milk and other frozen fruits and I have to say it was really yummy. No extra sweetener was needed and it really did smell and taste like cake batter. I also liked that there was no gritty taste like some powders have or ones that don't mix in all the way. Another great feature was that it kept my fuller for longer. I try to eat a bunch of smaller meals throughout the day and this shake seemed to keep me full. Some protein shakes I have tried left me feeling hungry within an hour to two.

Since I was only sent a couple of packets to try, I didn't really see any weight loss, but it did really like the taste of them. If you would like more information on the Body by Vi system and the Vi-Shape Mix please visit  Mike's Website.

I was sent product samples in order to facilitate my review, but all opinions are 100% mine.

#Heelys Review- Not Just for Kids!!

Now I know what you are thinking.. This is a review that was geared for my son. Well, guess what??!! I was the one who was chosen for this review and since he is only 3 1/2, I don't really think he is ready for them yet. I am sure that most of you who have kids or have been around kids must know what Heelys are. But just in case you don't, they are shoes that actually have wheels on the bottom of them for people to be able to "skate" on.

I was surprised that they wanted an adult to try them out, but I was up for a challenge. After all, I have been working out so I should be able to do it. No problem. Boy was I wrong!!

Thanks to Business2Blogger and Heelys I was sent a pair of the  #7672 Heelys Wave Girls Roller Shoes . I like that they are girly looking, but tough at the same time :) They are not much of my style, but since I will most likely not be wearing them as an everyday shoe, then it is ok. They are really comfortable on the inside though.

I was a little surprised at all the Warnings and Info that they send along with the Heelys, but I know they are just trying to protect themselves and the wearers. It did have me a little scared to try them out, but I went to their Skating 101 page and read up before I began my tests.

The first time I tried to test them out was I am sure quiet hilarious to anyone who could have watched (that is why I did it alone :) ). I was pretty surprised at how much muscle and balancing it really takes to get a groove down. Most kids that I have seen wearing them, act like it is sooo easy. I guess they wear them everyday though and practice a lot more than I have. I have to say though that once you kinda sorta figure out your own groove and how to make them go without falling down on your behind, it is really pretty fun. And you can get a really good workout at the same time.. haha

My kids thought they were pretty cool and my son keeps calling them my skateboard shoes.. They try to wear them around the house.

So as you can see Heelys can be for more than just kids. I plan on testing them out some more and hopefully get better than what I am right now :) I was thinking about doing a video of me wearing/testing them, but I am not sure I am up for that kind of embarrassment right now. If I get a little better at it, I will post is later on.

Heelys is throwing a Black Friday special so you can get your own pair to try out!! Between Nov 25-Nov 28, Buy any pair of Heelys, get the second pair for $25. Or buy a Nano, and get a pair of shoes for $25, and get free ground shipping on all orders! You can find more info on Heelys from their Website, Facebook Page, or follow them on Twitter

Heelys sent me a pair to review in conjunction with Business2Blogger

#Mamavation Monday- I Did It!!

When I signed up to do the Mamavation 2 Week Challenge, I really didn't think I would make it through. So far all I have done as far as working out has been walking/running on the treadmill. I was willing to try something new and hopefully work some other parts of my body out that really could use some help.

I, of course, went with the beginners workout and even that was pretty tough. Whoever though of Burpees must be INSANE!! Those were by far the hardest thing for me to do. I am just not that coordinated!! But after 2 weeks, I am happy to say that I completed it all and even threw in some running on top of it. I haven't really seen any weightloss from it which kinda bums me out, but I can tell I am a little stronger. Hopefully I can keep doing the workouts and increase the weights I use and see more progress.

I am pretty bummed that I haven't seen more change weight wise. Since I have started I have only lost about 5 pounds. I have had a change in my actual size and can now fit in to my size 10 jeans. Well, one of them... Why is it that the place you most want to lose weight and inches seems to be the last place to go??

One accomplishment that I am pretty proud of this week, was joining in with some of the other Mamavation ladies in a #squatday challenge on Friday. Throughout the day we tried to do as many squats as our bodies would allow us. I was shocked that I actually pushed myself to to 1300!!! Only bad thing is that I am still paying for it 2 days later with some major soreness.. HAHA

This week we were asked this question from Omron to answer: What kind of activities have you done with your pedometer on?
Since I don't have a pedometer, I will answer it in a different way of- what kind of activities would I do if I had one? I would love to see on a day to day basis how much I am/am not walking. Yes I get one the treadmill, but would like to know how much I walk in a whole day.
We also went to the Renaissance Festival today with the kids. It would be cool to see how much walking you get in by going to different festivals and other outdoor activities.

This post is sponsored by Omron and I’m writing this to be entered into a giveaway hosted by Mamavation – a community dedicated to obesity prevention & weight loss for women
