Fruit Shoot Hopscotch #FruitShoot #SuntHunt

Thanks to Fruit Shoot for sponsoring this fun activity post.

Fruit Shoot has a really fun contest going on right now and your child could be the next star!! They want to celebrate imagination and adventure that is inside every child. So what do you do? Have a fun game where you could switch up using Fruit Shoot bottles and a small ball? Do that then film a 30 second or less video and enter your child to be the next Fruit Shoot Star :)

So what did I come up with for my video? Fruit Shoot Hopscotch. What I love is that it takes a fun game of hopscotch that exercise their minds and bodies and add in another element. I started by drawing a hopscotch board outside with our sidewalk chalk. On the two square across spaces I added a fruit shoot bottle to each side, that way on the way down and the way back my kids could knock over a bottle while they jumped and counted numbers.

It took my kids a minute to understand what I wanted them to do, but after the first try they wanted to do it over and over again. Here is the video of my son doing it:

So what idea do you have for a fun video using Fruit Shoot and a small ball? Don't have a ball? When you buy 6 Fruit Shoot bottles, you can send in to get a free waboba ball!! Want to know how to make your own video?

So what are you waiting for? Get your video ready and enter it at the Fruit Shoot website today, then Check out some of the past winners

Staycation at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center

We were treated to a two day staycation at the Woodlands Resort and Conference Center in exchange for this post. If you need a getaway from Houston, but don't want to travel far... then read on!!

Here you are wanting one more little getaway before summer is over...or wanting to getaway for just the weekend or a couple of days in the middle of the school year, but you don't want to travel very far so that you can optimize the time you have to go somewhere. The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center located not far from the Woodlands Mall north of Houston could just be the answer you are looking for in your quest.

Right now they are undergoing a massive renovation that when all is said and done this fall will make this property a destination that you will want to visit over and over again.

As your first drive in to the complex, you really feel as though you are escaping the city through the winding road and forest of trees that open up to unveil gorgeous new buildings and amenities. As I said right now they are undergoing construction with the addition of 184 guest rooms and suites. They will also be redoing the existing guest rooms.

We were really impressed with the look of the new building structures. The stone facades are rich and warm and welcoming. Walking in to the Fairway Pines building was a wall of vertical plantings that I would love to replicate at my own house. You are then greeted with the amazing Forest Oasis Waterscape. My kids sure wanted to run right in, but of course we needed to go up to our room to change. The rooms are luxurious and large. Our family of four had plenty of space to move around in the Double Queen room and the bathroom... ahhhh.. I could spend all day in the bathroom.

After changing we headed down to the pools. The main area has a beach walk in access that is perfect for young kids to play or those who want to soak up the sun while in the water. This area also had two huge slides that my son spent most of his time on. And let me tell you there is plenty there in just that area to wear your kids out!!

But the best water feature that just opened at the Woodland Resort is the 900 ft. lazy river. This momma sure loves to get on a float and just ride. The sides of the river are beautifully landscaped so you feel as though you are drifting through nature. There is also one more smaller tube slide here that my daughter would actually do and was tall enough to go on.

Oh and don't think I forgot about the food. You don't even have to leave poolside to have some lunch or dinner and even some drinks from the Cool Water Cafe. They will serve you at your lounge chair or they have tables right next to the Cafe. The Woodlands Dining Room is also open or you can order room service. This fall they will be opening a 120 seat Texas steak restaurant where you can even host events.

I was treated to a spa massage service while I was there and it was the most relaxing and calming hour at the resort. The massage therapist I had worked her magic on my stress knots. I really could use that about once a week and I want their recipe for the fruit infused water that helped clear the toxins from my body.

We enjoyed our stay and the kids had a blast playing in the water all day and night long. We also loved that they have events planned by the water all throughout the day. The favorite was by far the s'more making!!  They also have nightly Dive-In movies where you can swim and watch a movie. Perfect for the kids to wind down for the evening.

They have plenty for grownups to do as well if you want a getaway for a girls weekend or couples retreat. Golf, tennis, billiards, and other activities just waiting for you. It also boasts a 60,000 sq ft conference space for your company retreats or meetings.

I can't wait to see the final changes when the construction is finished.

Thanks again to The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center or having us out. If you are looking for a staycation or even a vacation, then check out this resort. There is plenty nearby to do as well if you ever want to leave poolside.

Music to My Ears:Samsung M7 Wireless Speaker- August Best Buy Audio Fest #AudioFest

The reviewer has been compensated in the form of a Best Buy Gift Card and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free.

So there you are wanting listen to some music in your house, you are having people over and some ambient music throughout the house would be a great addition. But all you have on hand is your iPhone, tablet, or even TV and their sound output just isn't quite what you are needing. At the same time you also don't want a huge stereo system, you want something portable and preferably wireless. Best Buy has the perfect solution: Samsung Shape™ Wireless Audio Speaker with Hub.

Set up for the speaker is relatively easy. If you plan on using more than one speaker, it is best to get the Hub. This will allow you to control whether just one speaker plays or multiple ones play the same thing and gives you more control between your devices. So what does the speaker play?

You will need to first download the Samsung Multiroom App, it will then begin setting up on its own to connect with the WIFI and Hub. Then you can choose from serveral services to play music from including Amazon Music, Pandora, TuneIn Radio, or if you have a Samsung compatible TV it can play from there as well. Unfortunately we don't have a Samsung TV so we were not able to test out that function, but I was immediately impressed by the sound clarity that emanated from the speaker.

I played music from the Pandora station and the sound quality was amazing. Having control of the speaker just from your phone or other device makes this such a breeze to use. If you have more than one speaker, you could have crisp clear music all throughout your house.

Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® connectivity lets you send music from your library or favorite App straight to your speakers. I loved how I was able to use music services that I already subscribe to and have downloaded to my phone. Now momma can rock out while I clean the whole house!!

Right now until August 30th, Best buy is having a huge Audio Fest. Go in and test out all the latest in audio equipment, then take advantage of the great discounts that they have for you. Enhance your home entertainment experience with all that Best Buy has to offer. LOVE HOW YOU LISTEN

Chicken and Veggie Lovers "Fried Rice" #GlutenFree #MomsMeet

I have been craving Asian food more now that I have had to switch to a gluten free diet. Thankfully I received some WorldFoods sauces on behalf of Moms Meet to test out and create some yummy new Asian recipes at home!!

I am not the best at knowing what flavor combos work when it comes to cooking, now baking is another story. When I experiment with spices, I don't know what amount to use and what really compliments another spice especially when it comes to Asian recipes. But lately my confidence is starting to pick up a bit!

WorldFoods has a wide variety of sauces so now at home I can make fried rice, pad thai, curry, and more. Each jar has a base recipe on the back that you can then take and really make your own. This recipe has become my all time favorite, so much so I ate it three days in a row. And I am not one to eat leftovers very often.

Chicken and Veggie Lovers "Fried Rice"
This is loosely called fried rice, but contains no rice :)

1/2 of Medium spaghetti squash, baked and scraped (Cut in half, scrape out seeds, cook cut side down at 400 degrees for about 1 hour)
1 package chicken tenders, chopped
Two large carrots shredded
8 oz package baby bella mushrooms sliced
1 head off broccoli chopped
2 ears corn taken off cobb
1 medium onion, chopped
Gluten Free Soy Sauce
WorldFoods Fried Rice 'Nasi Goreng' Paste

You can prep your ingredients in the morning or the day before to make this a quick dinner.

Saute the onion until soft, add the chicken and cook through. Next add in broccoli, carrots, mushrooms and corn. Continue to cook until veggies soften slightly. Add in 4 tablespoons of WorldFoods Fried Rice 'Nasi Goreng' Paste as well as 2-3T gluten free soy sauce. Add in fully cooked spaghetti squash. Cook until fully combined and veggies are done to your liking. I kept mine with a slight firmness still and it was awesome.

You may need to add a bit more paste and soy sauce depending upon how many veggies you add in. The first day we ate it as is and it was delicious. The spaghetti squash makes it more like eating noodles instead of eating rice. I ate it the next two days on bib lettuce just like the lettuce wrap appetizer you can get. It really was amazing!! And you get in your veggies.

I also made a Salmon Green Coconut Curry that was pretty good too.

WORLDFOODS now produces a range of seven ready-made sauces totaling 51 variations in all. Our panel of experts, comprising chefs, nutritionists, market researchers and experienced food-tasters, are constantly seeking new and exciting ways to bring out the best of flavors without using artificial ingredients. We do not use preservatives and artificial flavorings. Our products are food allergens free, trans-fat free and gluten free with no artificial preservatives, coloring or flavouring. We aim for range of “clean” products that are suitable for Vegetarians, Vegans, Celiacs and Muslims.

I think these sauces will now be a staple in my house to make gluten free amazing Asian recipes that will also be so much cheaper than getting take out and will be healthier for my family.

Learning About Paying it Forward- Get a Shot, Give a Shot with Walgreens #GiveaShot #CollectiveBias

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions and thoughts about paying it forward are my own. Thanks Walgreens for such an amazing opportunity to share this with my kids right before back to school time. #GiveAShot #CollectiveBias

Just two weeks left of summer for my kiddos. We have had so much fun and it will be sad to see our lazy days come to an end. I have been hearing my teacher friends talk about how they are already getting their classrooms set up, buying supplies, and planning out the year. That got me to thinking about all our teachers do for our kids.

They spend so much of their own money to make sure that they can teach our kids in a fun and functional environment. They are not given all that you see when you walk in to a classroom. I think so many of us take that for granted. But this year I wanted my son to start to learn and appreciate more what his teachers now and in the future do for him and so many others. I want him to learn how to pay it forward.

One way we are doing this for his teachers this year is to send extra supplies to the classroom. We stopped by Walgreens and picked up some colored pencils (I know how fast my kids break these!!), erasers, glue, rulers, post it notes, and a few other things. It is our way of making sure that she has the supplies she needs to teach our kids and not have to buy it all with her own money. We also plan on asking her throughout the year what she is running out of supply wise. Tissue and Boogie wipes are also great things to send as well. Best to keep those yucky germs away as much as we can!

My hope in doing this is that he will see how we should all help each other out. Teachers should not have to be responsible for fully stocking their classrooms out of their own money. They work hard and we should help them as much as we can.

Walgreens wants to also help pay it forward to other children who are in need. Does your kid need vaccines before they head to school? If they do, might I suggest that you get them done at Walgreens. For every shot that is done through Walgreens, a shot will be donated to a child in need. It is easy to go in, no appointment needed. Most insurance is accepted and Walgreens will report it back to your Primary Care Doctor for their records.

Get a Shot, Give a Shot. What better way to pay it forward for something that we have to do anyways.

What ways are you paying it forward? Are you buying extra supplies for your child's teacher? Volunteering your time in the classroom? What more could you be doing?
